Chewing gum is an edition of 50 pages created during my studies in Nevers. The given theme was “Nocturnal”.
I chose to represent the late night encounters in nightclubs, when people pair and express their passion without filters. I gathered on internet a collection of pictures that had been shot in bars and nightclubs and compiled them in this edition. All these pictures have been cropped and turned into halftone mode which merges them in this graphic veil embodying the mass of the night.
At the bottom of the pages, a lign of text appears like a subtitle in a music video. They are the lyrics of the song “Chewing Gum” by the French band Odezenne. They bring a story line to these images that flow instinctively of the course of the pages.
